DIY Self Watering Wine Bottle Planter

Gypsy Glow Knows Best

Lately I’ve been hooked on Pinterest, and came across home wine bottle cutting- then it clicked! A self watering vase, why had I never thought of this before?!?!

It’s extremely easy and quick to do. Just a few simple steps and BAM you’re all done.

1. Clean your bottle. (Seems like a no brainer but most people forget this step.)

2. Fill the sink with ice water.

3. Tie a cotton piece of yarn around the bottle 5-6 times.

4. Roll the string off of the bottle and soak it in acetone/nail polisher remove for about 10-20 seconds.

Rum Raisin Pie

Ahoy there mateys!!! Today at The Drunk Oven we are going to explore what the pirates of the 7 seas were eating behind their wives backs, Rum Raisin Pie. Ok all joking aside, I did try to do some research on this particular subject, and could find no corresponding evidence that pirates did once eat Rum Raisin Pie, so, for the sake of this post we will all assume that Rum Raisin Pie was a favorite treat of Captain Teach (A.K.A. Captain Blackbeard to most of us), and that this wonderful invention of a pie would remain irresistible to all Pirates, of all the seas, and to all of their lovely lady wenches.

There are several know types of Rum Raisin Pie, the most popular being the plain ol’ original type. However, depending on the voyage you may be on, and the company you keep, you may find yourself having one or more of the following, Apple Rum Raisin pie, Hot Buttered Rum Raisin Pie, Cinnamon Rum Raisin Pie, Old Fashioned (wait, no Rum in this one), Caramel Apple, or Rum Raisin Pumpkin Pie (Mmmmmm…..).

Alright, let’s put all of this pirate B.S. aside and get down to the good stuff starting with the original Rum Raisin Pie. The original is the most simple and consists of a yummy crust with a creamy top. Any one of the following sites with guide you to making a Rum Raisin Pie that the Pirates would pillage for.
